A progression from the Offset works. The material and method of carving are the same – CNC-carved plywood. Instead of one piece of plywood for each surface, Link is made of an assembly of parts. It is an attempt to extend the decision-making process from digital programming into the tangible. As with many kinds of digital fabrication, there is a limit to how far the hand of the artist reaches. The forms are now modular, so different elements are interchangeable. Distinct patterns allow for playfulness in the composition.
